Case Manager is a Windows application that is installed on one or more computers in your office (network). A single user or multiple users (network workstations) enter data into Case Manager and the data is stored on your main computer in your own office.  This gives you physical ownership of your data at all times, and since you don't enter data via the internet, there is never interruption to data entry due to internet down time.   

Once data is entered, it can be uploaded by you to a "private online mysql database" that resides on our high speed dedicated servers, where your clients can log in (using a unique user name and password) to view the status of any service record, including the ability to view proofs of service etc.  Clients can also submit jobs and documsnts to you online that flow directly into your Case Manager software (optional feature). Your process servers can also log into the database to view records you gave them to serve, and they can also update records online (if you allow this). The upload is accomplished by clicking on a single button in Case Manager (see videos below to see all online database functions).   YOU DO NOT PAY ANY MONTHLY FEES TO UTILIZE THIS ONLINE DATABASE SERVICE.  

OPTIONAL SQL SERVER INSTALLATION

Server Data: When Case Manager is installed, the database is located on your own computer or server.  This gives you complete control over your records, and total security. There is no added cost, regardless of the number of workstations Case manager is installed on.

Optionally, you can host your Case Manager data on a Microsoft SQL server 2005 or greater server by entering the information requested into the fields. This replaces the standard Case Manager database file. The benefit of this, is that the database will run faster and allow a greater number of records to fit in the database. This is beneficial to VERY HIGH VOLUME companies. This also would allow a company to have multiple offices running Case Manager to enter, retrieve and edit records that are located on a single server residing online or offline. Go-To-My PC would be an alternate solution to remote access, at a more modest cost. You should discuss all options with our tech support team.

If your office meets one or more of the following scenarios, you may want to consider installing Microsoft SQL server 2005
5 or more workstations
750 or more jobs per month
Remote Data Access (for users with multiple offices)
Recurring Data Corruption Errors (Unrecognized Database Format)
If you want the most reliable database possible
If you want to have built in, automatic backups done at the database engine level.

SQL NON-HOSTED:
To have this installed you will need to buy the hardware and server licenses to run SQL Server. You will be responsible for setting up SQL Server, doing backups, etc. If you are already using Case Manager, we'll help you move your data from your current version to SQL server. You'll need to learn and understand SQL Server in order to setup logins for users, do occasional database maintenance, make and verify data backups, etc. This is easy to do once over the learning curve. The biggest advantage of hosting your own SQL Server is that your data is local in your office. This gives you the benefit for the highest possible performance and no reliance on the internet to allow you to connect to your data and work.

SQL HOSTED:
If SQL is Hosted, making and verifying backups is our job to maintain. We supply and maintain the hardware and SQL server licenses and you have no initial expenses. The big advantage is that we have the expertise, and the hardware, redundant power supplies, generators, and multiple data backups to keep you online. The disadvantage is that all your users are remote, and you will need to have an active internet connection in order to access your data.

If you would like to consider having SQL installed on your server or remote server, it can be done at a modest cost by
Level 2 Tech Support.   For Case manager users with existing databases that have significant numbers of records the set-up time can exceed 5 hours.

EDT (electronic data transfer) To Courts & Clients (no added monthly cost to use - one-time set-up fee)
An optional feature is the ability to automatically file affidavits and other data with courts via Electronic Data Transfer, and
also the ability to transmit affidavits and other documents directly to a clients desktop or to a client's software, the moment they are generated. (contact a Case manager representative for added information).  Though this feature is integrated within the software, it does require some custom programming to enable data transfer to clients and courts, which entails an added one-time set up fee, but no fee for ongoing use.  The fee is quoted, and dependent on your client's or court's requirements and amount of programming that is needed to meet those requirements.
